Charges after drugs found, NSW

A man will face court today charged with drug offences in Nelson Bay, NSW Police say.

Officers from Port Stephens Local Area Command were patrolling Lagoons Circuit, Nelson Bay, about 11.45pm today, when they spoke to a man standing beside a car.

Police allegedly located a large plastic resealable bag with a white crystal substance, believed to be ‘ICE’, a short distance from the vehicle.

The items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.

A 46-year-old man was arrested and taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court tomorrow.
