Charges - Aggravated assault - Driver

Northern Territory Police have charged two men allegedly involved with the Bandidos Motorcycle Club after a man was allegedly assaulted.

Members of the Drug and Organised Crime Division Gangs Task Force allege that the men assaulted a 24-year-old male in Driver last Wednesday night while he walked home from a Palmerston venue, Northern Territory Police say

The male required treatment at Royal Darwin Hospital for injuries sustained in the attack.

Police are still investigating and believe there may be more people involved.

"This was a cowardly attack and police will not tolerate this kind of behaviour from outlaw motorcycle gangs," said Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Sanderson.

Police expect to make more arrests and are calling for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

A 46-year-old man and a 24-year-old man have been charged with aggravated assault.

They are scheduled to appear in the Darwin Local Court on 16 October 2018.
