A man has been charged after another man was shot during a hunting trip near Oberon in April.
About 8.50pm on Friday 18 April 2025, emergency services responded to reports of a man being shot on a rural property along Campbells River Road, Black Springs, approximately 20km south of Oberon.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 69-year-old man for a gunshot wound to the right shoulder before he was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established, and officers attached to Chifley Police District established Strike Force Arthurs to investigate the incident.
Police seized three firearms for forensic examination.
On Sunday 27 April 2025, police were notified the man has died at Westmead Hospital.
Following inquiries, about 8.30am today (Monday 16 June 2205), a 47-year-old man attended Bathurst Police Station and was arrested.
He was charged with manslaughter.
The man appeared at Blayney Local Court today (Monday 16 June 2025), where he was given conditional bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday 20 August 2025.
