Charges Filed After Narrandera Hit-and-Run Crash

A man has been charged over an alleged fail-to-stop crash earlier this month in the state's south.

Just after 8pm on Saturday 3 May 2025, emergency services were called to River Street, Narrandera, following reports a 48-year-old man had been hit by a motorcycle.

Officers were told the rider allegedly left the scene before police arrived.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. He currently remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident, with assistance from officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a house on Lady Loch Crescent, Narrandera, about 8am today (Friday 16 May 2025), where they arrested a 24-year-old man.

He was taken to Narrandera Police Station where he was charged with two offences,

  • Fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm, and
  • Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous.

He has been refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court via AVL tomorrow (Saturday 17 May 2025).
