Charges Filed in Slacks Creek Shooting Incident

Police have charged two men in relation to a shooting incident in Slacks Creek on Sunday, 21 September.

Emergency services were called to Kingston Road to reports of a street disturbance around 8.19am.

It will be alleged three offenders entered a Kingston Road property where they stole property and discharged a firearm.

A 35-year-old male received a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

A 37-year-old Gympie man and a 47-year-old Victory Heights man were both charged with two counts of armed robbery with violence, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, assaults occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, enter dwelling with intent, dangerous conduct with a weapon, wilful damage, and carry dangerous goods in vehicle.

The 37-year-old Gympie man is due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court today, 27 September.

The 47-year-old Victory Heights man has been remanded in custody and is due to next appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 19 November.

A female offender is still outstanding.

The incident is alleged to be targeted and there is no threat to the public.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
