Charges following Preston attempted armed robbery

Police have arrested four teens following an alleged attempted armed robbery in Preston on 20 June, Victoria Police say.

The incident allegedly took place about 8.10pm on St Georges Road.

Two women sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result.

The newly established North West Metro Division 5 Serious Crime Task Force arrested four teens.

A 14-year-old Diamond Creek girl and 15-year-old Coburg girl were charged with a range of offences, including attempted armed robbery, intentionally causing serious injury and assault with a weapon.

They were remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Two boys, a 17-year-old from Whittlesea and 14-year-old from Watsonia, were released without charge.
