Charges laid after man shot with air rifle near Albury, NSW

A man has been charged after another man was shot with an air rifle near Albury yesterday, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 1pm (Thursday 10 May 2018), emergency services were called to Rangeview Drive at Jindera, about 17km north of Albury, following reports a man had been shot.

On arrival, officers from Murray River Police District found a 48-year-old man with wounds to his arm and head. A three-year-old boy, who was with him at the time, was not injured.

The man was treated by ambulance paramedics and did not require hospital treatment.

A short time later, officers arrested a 37-year-old man at a property in Rangeview Drive and he was taken to Albury Police Station.

The man was charged with fire firearm manner likely injure persons/property, possess unauthorised firearm, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess prohibited drug, and possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs.

He was refused bail and is due to appear before Albury Local Court today (Friday 11 May 2018).
