Charges laid in drug supply investigation in Taree

Police have charged a man over allegedly supplying drugs on the state’s Mid North Coast, NSW Police say.

About 10am yesterday (Thursday 1 March 2018), police from Manning/Great Lakes Police District executed a search warrant at a property in Winter Street, Tinonee.

Officers seized several items, including steroids and jewellery suspected of being stolen.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Taree Police Station.

Police will allege in court the man used the ‘dark web’ to sell prohibited drugs at a business in Taree.

He was charged with three counts supply prohibited drug indictable quantity, six counts of supply prohibited drug, and goods in custody suspected of being stolen.

The man was refused bail and due to appear before Taree Local Court today (Friday 2 March 2018).

Manning/Great Lakes Commander Superintendent Shane Cribb praised the work of officers and said the supply of prohibited drugs would not be tolerated.

"Police will continue to target and stop drugs from hitting our streets," he said.

"We want people to know that if you are involved in the distribution of drugs, we will be knocking on your door and taking the appropriate action."

Inquiries continue.
