Charges laid over assault in Whalan

A man has been charged over an alleged assault in Sydney’s west last night, NSW Police say.

About 8.40pm (Monday 4 December 2017), emergency services were called to a property in Whalan following reports a man had been assaulted with a hammer.

On arrival, police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command found a 27-year-old man with injuries to his head.

He was taken to Blacktown Hospital in a stable condition.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with destroy or damage property, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV).

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on Monday 11 December 2017.
