Charges laid over Thornbury armed robbery

Police have charged four men in regards to an armed robbery in Thornbury today, Victoria Police say.

It is believed the alleged offenders entered a Miller Street retail outlet at about 2pm armed with hammers and an axe, removing cigarettes and a quantity of cash before leaving the scene in a car.

Police arrested a 15-year-old from Truganina, a 16-year-old from Reservoir and two 16-year-olds from Tarneit shortly after in nearby parkland in relation to the armed robbery.

No one was injured during the incident.

All four men have been charged with armed robbery and associated offences and are currently awaiting out of sessions bail/remand hearings.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or recorded it on their mobile phones to contact Crime Stoppers.
