Charges over stabbing, NSW

A man has been charged over a stabbing at Wagga Wagga on Friday. , NSW Police say>

About 12.10am (Friday 31 August 2018), police were called to a unit block on Marshall Street at Ashmont, in Wagga Wagga’s western suburbs.

Police found a 44-year-old man with wounds to his neck. He was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital in a stable condition to undergo further treatment.

Officers from Riverina Police District commenced inquiries.

About 2pm yesterday (Saturday 1 September 2018), a 46-year-old man was arrested at an address in Ashmont.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he was charged with wound with intent to murder and destroy property (x2).

He was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Sunday 2 September 2018).
