Charges – Serious Harm – Karama

Officers from the Gangs Task Force have charged a 39-year-old male in relation to an alleged serious harm incident.

Around 12:30pm on Sunday, 13 January, the male armed himself with an edged weapon before forcing entry into a residence in Karama.

He then proceeded to assault the victim by striking him with the weapon which caused a laceration to his leg and serious injuries to his hand.

The male fled the scene and was later arrested by general duties officers.

He has been charged with:

• Aggravated enter dwelling intent commit offence

• Aggravated assault

• Armed with an offensive weapon

• Unlawfully cause serious harm

He will appear in Darwin Local Court today.
