Charges - Unlawful Entry - Coconut Grove

Northern Territory Police have charged a 31-year-old male following an alleged unlawful entry in Coconut Grove.

Around 10:30am on Wednesday, 12 December, the male forced entry into a residence and searched for items to steal, Northern Territory Police say.

Two young occupants who were home at the time locked themselves in their rooms and notified police.

The male left the residence and dumped the victim’s stolen property at a nearby location before returning. As he was returning to the residence he sighted a police van, changed direction and attempted to flee.

In doing so, he was observed throwing stolen property underneath a parked car and was subsequently arrested.

The male was charged with;

  • Damage to property
  • Unlawful entry – dwelling
  • Stealing

He is due to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
