Charges following Seville fatal collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man he allegedly struck two pedestrians in Seville yesterday (9 December)., Victoria Police say

It is believed that a man and woman were walking along Monbulk-Seville Road, near Wandin Creek Road, when they were struck by a car shortly after 1pm.

A 58-year-old Steeles Creek man was treated at the scene but died before he could be transported to hospital.

A 68-year-old Seville woman was airlifted to hospital where she remains.

The alleged driver, a 27-year-old Monbulk man, was arrested at the scene.

He was interviewed by police and charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death and one count of dangerous driving causing serious injury.

The man was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 December.
