Get ready for a "wheely" good time with everything that digs, scoops or beeps at the annual Monster Machinery Day.

The popular free event filled with 'big toys' for all ages is returning to the Broadwater Parklands on Sunday.

"It doesn't matter if you are a young child or an adult who is a child at heart, there is something for everyone at Monster Machinery Day," Mayor Tom Tate said.

"This is your chance to get up close with the pieces of machinery that help transform and maintain the Gold Coast.

"There will be everything there from backhoe loaders to tipper trucks and even a live demonstration from a woodchipper.

"The fan favourite of toddlers – the giant sand pit – is back as well as Hot Wheels for the bigger kids!

"Come on down and get a peek at the machines that help shape the Gold Coast."

This year Monster Machinery Day will also feature a Disaster and Emergency Management Pop-Up which allows everyone to get up close with the hard-working heroes from our emergency services and volunteers, dedicated to keeping our community safe, as well as learn what to do when faced with severe weather and disasters.

The event will be spread across one kilometre of the Broadwater Parklands' Great and Southern lawns so prams and scooters are suggested to help rest tired little legs.

Food will also be available from food trucks.
