Cherry Picker Hits Lithgow Rail Bridge, Operation Begins

An emergency operation is underway after a truck crashed into a rail bridge in the state's Central West.

About 8.50am today (Thursday 6 November 2025), emergency services were called to Inch Street, Lithgow, following reports of a truck crash.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District responded to find a 'cherry picker' had hit a bridge, causing it to collapse.

A man believed to be the driver managed to free himself, but a passenger remains unaccounted for.

Emergency services remain at the scene and are working to free the man.

SafeWork NSW has been notified.
