Child Critical After Being Hit By Car - Hornsby

A young girl is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Sydney's north today.

About 10.40am (Sunday 25 May 2025), emergency services were called to Somerville Road, Hornsby Heights, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

Officers attached to Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command arrived to find an 8-year-old girl unconscious on the road after being hit by a Holden SUV.

The girl was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken by road to the Children's Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.

The driver of the SUV was uninjured and taken to Hornsby Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene had been established and police have commenced an investigation into the incident.
