Child Dental Benefits Schedule compliance activity is underway

The Department of Health has advised the ADA that they will be issuing letters to approximately 250 dentists around the country with a request to explain irregular claiming behaviour concerning the Child Dental Benefits Schedule for the period 1 Jan 2020 – 31 Dec 2020.

The Department has used claims data to identify what is deemed irregular claiming behaviour, with a focus on high levels of servicing per patient and incorrect claiming of item numbers 88111 and 88114.

If you receive a letter, please contact your ADA Branch who will support you through the process.

Even if you are not issued with a letter, it is sensible to regularly review the rules of the scheme if you are participating.

Please see below links to review the rules, and for tools to help you ensure you remain compliant.
