Sadly a 7-year-old boy from Hobart's eastern shore has died following a boating incident at Prosser River, Orford on Sunday afternoon.
With the permission of family, police can advise that the child's name is Archie James Green.
Tasmania Police is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and a report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
Our thoughts are with Archie's family and loved ones at this difficult time.
