A child has died after a motocross crash in the state's Southern Tablelands.
About 12pm Saturday 8 August 2026, emergency services were called to a motorbike park at Jerrong, about 65km south of Oberon, after reports of a crash involving two motorcycles.
Officers attached to Chifley Police District responded along with a NSW Ambulance aeromedical rescue helicopter, with paramedics treating a rider – a nine-year-old girl – for serious head injuries before she was flown to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains underway.
Police were informed this week the girl had passed away in hospital on Wednesday 12 August 2026.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
