Child exploitation charges at Cairns

A 34-year-old Cairns man has been charged with child exploitation offences as part of a joint law enforcement investigation.

The Cairns Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) - comprising detectives from the QPS Cairns Child Protection and Investigation Unit and the Australian Federal Police - arrested the man on Thursday, July 8.

He has been charged with two counts of possessing child exploitation material and one count each of use a carriage service to transmit child abuse material, transmitted to himself child abuse material by using a carriage service, and possession of drug utensils.

The man was granted bail to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court on July 23.
