Child filmed in restroom, man charged, NSW

Police have charged a man after he allegedly filmed a child in a public restroom on the far south coast yesterday.

About 12pm, Wednesday 29 September 2016, a child was in a public at a shopping centre on Perry Street in Batemans Bay.

Police will allege that while the boy was in the restroom, he was filmed by an unknown man.

Police from the Far South Coast Local Area Command were contacted and commenced an investigation.

As a result of this investigation, a 54-year-old man attended Batemans Bay Police Station last night.

The man was charged with filming a person engaged in a private act with aggravating circumstances.

The man was given strict conditional bail to appear before Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday 24 October 2016.
