Child injured in bus, bicycle crash - Surry Hills

A four-year-old boy is recovering after a collision between a bus and a bicycle in Sydney yesterday.

Just before 5.45pm (Monday 21 October 2019), emergency services were called to Liverpool Street, near the intersection of Wentworth Avenue, Surry Hills after reports a bus and a bicycle collided.

The rider, a 35-year-old woman, was uninjured, however the four-year-old child passenger suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick in a stable condition.

The bus driver and passengers were uninjured. The driver, a 37-year-old man, returned a negative breath test at the scene and spoke with officers.

The boy has undergone surgery at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.
