Child left in vehicle in Yass

Police are conducting inquiries after a two-year-old child was found in a vehicle in the state's Southern tablelands today.

Officers were called to a child care centre at Yass just after 3pm (Wednesday 20 February 2019), after the child was found inside a parked vehicle.

It's alleged the boy had been left in the vehicle unattended for approximately six hours.

He was treated for dehydration and taken to Yass District Hospital as a precaution.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended and are conducting inquiries.

The matter has been reported to Family & Community Services.
