Additional charges have been laid against a childcare worker who allegedly assaulting two children in his care at a childcare centre in Sydney's south-west late last month.
Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command received a report on Friday 24 April 2026, that a childcare worker had allegedly assaulted two boys - aged three and four - at a Panania childcare centre the previous day (Thursday 23 April 2026).
Police were told the worker – a 24-year-old man – had allegedly slapped the boys in the face.
On Saturday 25 April 2026, the man was arrested, charged and remains before the court.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives attended a home in Belmore about 12.45pm today (Monday 4 May 2026), and arrested a 24-year-old man.
He was taken to Campsie Police Station where he was charged with an additional two counts of common assault.
The man was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 5 May 2026).
