Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce Victorian Men's Head Coach Chris Rogers has re-signed for a further two seasons.
The extension will see Rogers remain at the helm of Victoria's men's program as the group looks to continue building following a strong summer in which the team reached the Sheffield Shield Final.
Under Rogers' leadership, Victoria has been one of the competition's benchmark teams, with last season's Sheffield Shield side becoming just the second team in competition history to win eight home-and-away matches in a single season.
Since taking over the role in 2020, Rogers has overseen a significant transition period for Victorian cricket, helping guide the development of a new generation of players while continuing the program's proud history of producing Australian representatives.
During Rogers' tenure, several Victorian players have earned Australian honours, including current national-contracted players Scott Boland and Todd Murphy, while emerging players across the program have continued to establish themselves at domestic and Australia A level, such as Fergus O'Neill, Sam Elliott, Will Sutherland, Oliver Peake and Sam Harper.
Victoria's General Manager Cricket Performance, Graham Manou, said Rogers had played a critical role in building a connected, resilient and high-performing environment.
"Chris has done an outstanding job leading this group during an important period for Victorian cricket," Manou said.
"What stands out most is the environment and culture he has helped create. Victoria is represented by people who work together, respect history, keep pushing forward, and back effort with action. Chris embodies those values every day.
"He has helped foster a genuine team-first mentality across the program, while also maintaining a relentless focus on preparation, discipline and continual improvement.
"We're incredibly proud of the progress this group has made under Chris, not only in reaching successive finals, but in continuing to develop and produce players capable of succeeding at the highest level.
"Chris has also played a key role in a number of our players recommitting to Victoria, which speaks volumes about the belief and connection within the program."
Rogers said he was excited about the group's direction and the opportunities ahead.
"It's been a privilege to coach Victoria and continue building on the strong history of this program," Rogers said.
"We've worked hard to create an environment where players can develop, challenge themselves and ultimately perform consistently for Victoria.
"I'm proud of what this group has achieved over the past few seasons, but there's still a strong hunger within the playing group to keep improving and ultimately bring more success to Victorian cricket.
"There's a strong connection between the playing group, staff and the history of Victorian cricket, and we want to continue honouring that while building something this current group can be proud of."
