Christmas is coming to Wyndham

Christmas is coming to Wyndham!

This festive season we've engaged a local artist and illustrator to create a uniquely Wyndham look and feel, to bring fun and joy to the community. The designs are being rolled out City wide and include the installation of photo boards which have been installed at the Piazza in the Werribee City Centre, Point Cook Town Centre and Tarneit Gardens Shopping Centre.

The three colourful photo boards feature native Australian animals, a platypus and orange-bellied parrot, which can both be spotted in Wyndham and are also endangered. The illustrations were created by local artist Catrice Lam who came to our attention via Wyndham City's award-winning pop-up store MADE on Watton.

Residents can take selfies in front of the boards and upload to social using the hashtag #wyndhamchristmas.

The festive designs will feature prominently throughout Wyndham, including our city-wide flags and banners, social media and street decals.

Wyndham City Mayor Cr Peter Maynard said: "This festive season is all about celebrating and supporting local."

"The new Christmas installation brings positivity to the Werribee City Centre. It is a welcome and colourful addition to the Piazza on Watton Street. I encourage our residents to stop, admire the artwork and take photos." said, Mayor Cr Peter Maynard.

As well as having a bit of fun taking a selfie at the photo board , you can also enjoy the festive vibe by popping down to Christmas in Werribee City Centre between 10am to 4pm on the weekend of 18 and 19 December, to catch up with family and friends over brunch or lunch.

There will be lots of opportunities to browse and do your last minute Christmas shopping; there's a MADE on Watton Christmas Market at Wyndham Cultural Centre; many of your favourite makers and new creatives too - featuring handmaid jewellery, beautiful ceramics, homewares, candles, gift cards and beauty products.

There will be roving entertainment, fun kids activities, face painting a visit from Santa and more. If you are out and about don't forget to hashtag your snaps: #wyndhamchristmas
