Cinderella Spinderella Whirls Its Way Into Imaginations

Gunnedah Shire Council

Jally Entertainment is putting a new spin on the classic tale of Cinderella in a live performance at The Civic Theatre on Thursday, 18 September.

Cinderella Spinderella is an educational show that highlights safety, kindness and friendship in a fun way for 4 to 11 year-olds.

Leading lady Cinderella is doing the household chores again while her bossy stepmother Edna Bucket sits around playing on her phone all day. It's hard for Cinders to make any friends because she is cleaning, cooking, and spinning all the time.

When Murray the Moose delivers an invitation to a big party, Cinders isn't allowed to go, but everyone will be there, including Prince Perfect. Even if she could go, how would she stop spinning?

Gunnedah Shire Council Cultural Precinct Team Leader Danny Hankinson said it was exciting to bring more live theatre to the Shire.

"Live theatre takes us on a journey of discovery, and part of the fun is not knowing where it will lead. It helps kids to engage, sparks curiosity, and encourages imagination," Mr Hankinson said.

"Cinderella is a well-known story that spans generations, so it will be great to see how local kids respond to a new spin on a beloved tale."

Cinderella Spinderella will take to the stage at The Civic Theatre, Gunnedah at 11am and 1pm on Thursday, 18 September, 2025. Tickets are $15 each and can be booked at https://www.thecivic.com.au/movie/cinderella--spinderella---live-theatre
