A NSW Police civilian employee has been charged following an investigation into an alleged domestic violence-related incident.
Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation about 5.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 11 August 2026), after reports a 36-year-old man allegedly assaulted a woman known to him the previous day.
Police arrested the 36-year-old man about 6.15pm and took him to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with intentionally choke person without consent (DV), and common assault (DV).
He has been granted conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court next Tuesday (18 August 2026).
The employment status of the man, who is attached to a specialist command, is under review.
