Climate change is one of the defining challenges of our time. Increasing education and action on climate change by working with Canadian innovators will not only help protect the environment in communities across the country, it will also grow our economy.

Today, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, announced a new intake period for the Climate Action Fund for 2019-20. The Fund will support projects that raise awareness about climate change and clean growth, and encourage Canadians to take action.

The new intake for the Climate Action Fund will provide up to $3 million in 2019-2020 to support projects delivered by not-for-profit and non-government organizations, small and medium-sized businesses, students, youth, Indigenous Peoples and organizations, research, academic and educational institutions.

Submissions for the new 2019-20 intake period of the Climate Action Fund are due by May 13, 2019. Details on the types of initiatives that may qualify and how to apply can be found in the 2019 Climate Action Fund Applicant Guide.

"I am excited to announce that this year's call for proposals for the Climate Action Fund is now open.
