Closure of drug operation Tango Negative, Rockhampton Yeppoon

On Friday (September 17) a dedicated team of Rockhampton detectives closed operation 'Tango Negative', a seven-month investigation into the supply of dangerous drugs in the Rockhampton and Yeppoon area.

This operation resulted in eight arrests and investigators seized a total of 1.3 kilograms of methylamphetamine, $25,000 cash, two vehicles (as proceeds of crime), two handguns and over 200 rounds of unlawful ammunition.

A 38-year-old Wandal man was the last arrested on Friday when a search warrant at a Wandal address located a quantity of dangerous drug and cash.

"We are confident this operation has dismantled a significant drug network in our area." Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Kevin Mawdsley said.

The 38-year-old man is due to face Rockhampton Magistrates Court today (September 20) in relation to trafficking dangerous drugs, unlawful supply of a firearm, attempting to pervert justice, possessing unlawful ammunition, possession of property obtained from drug supply and 29 counts of supplying dangerous drugs.
