CLP Boosts Volume for Metallica Fans Live

NT Government

The Finocchiaro CLP Government is supporting MusicNT to find the Northern Territory's biggest live music fan.

A new program has been launched tonight which will reward a live music lover with a chance to see Metallica in concert.

To go in the running, Territorians can earn points through MusicNT's new 'Sound Rewards' web-based app by checking into live music venues across the NT and sharing gigs with friends or family.

Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Marie-Clare Boothby said: "Live music drives tourism and supports hospitality businesses by attracting visitors, increasing local spending, re-energising our night-time economy and creating jobs across our tourism and hospitality sector."

"We strongly support our music and arts sector, and whether it's major festivals or intimate gigs, live music stimulates spending and keeps money flowing through Territory businesses, benefitting our economy," said Ms Boothby.

"This is our year of action, certainty and security, and the Sound Rewards program will help support our local live music venues by driving foot traffic and helping promote local and interstate gigs around the Territory.

"Music fans can earn the chance to see Metallica live simply by doing something they enjoy, and that's attending live music events."

Executive Director of MusicNT, Mark Smith, said Sound Rewards was about celebrating and supporting the musicians, venues and festivals across the NT that support live music.

"Thanks to the support of the Northern Territory Government, Live Nation and Moshtix, Sound Rewards will roll out from May to September, and we can't wait to see who is crowned the NT's Night Life Superstar," said Mr Smith.

The player who reaches the top of the Sound Rewards chart will score return airfares, accommodation and tickets for two to any Metallica concert in Australia during their M72 World Tour this November.

Sound Rewards is funded by the CLP Government and produced by local not-for-profit organisation, MusicNT.

The program is open Territory-wide and is free to join and play.

Registrations are now open with the competition closing 30 September 2025.
