The Finocchiaro CLP Government is continuing to fight for private maternity services in the Territory, with a decision on the future operator of Darwin Private Hospital expected soon.
The CLP Government is leaving no stone unturned in the fight to restore private maternity services.
The Government will explore all available legal, legislative and commercial options to ensure this occurs.
The Finocchiaro CLP Government is standing up for Territory families, fighting to secure the future of private maternity services, with the receivers expected to make a decision soon on a successful operator to run Darwin Private Hospital.
Minister for Health Steve Edgington said he had written to the receivers McGrath-Nicol again to state the CLP Government's expectation that the successful proponent must be committed to the restoration of private maternity services at Darwin Private Hospital.
"The CLP is steadfast in this position that private maternity must be restored for Territory families to have choice," Mr Edgington said.
"We have told all parties involved that this Government will explore all available legal, legislative and commercial options to ensure this occurs.
"The Finocchiaro CLP Government is leaving no stone unturned in this for Territorians.
"The Government has a preferred proponent, and we understand the receivers are considering the options carefully.
"As a Government, we are working collaboratively to ensure sustainable, high-quality private hospital services for Territorians."
