CLP stand for more crime and anti-social behaviour

Opposition Leader Gary Higgins has today confirmed that the CLP stand for more crime and antisocial behaviour.

His backflip on an alcohol floor price proves two things:

1. The CLP are ignoring all the evidence which says a floor price reduces crime and antisocial behaviour.

2. Less than a week into the job, its clear that new CLP President and Adam Giles former Chief of Staff Ron Kelly is now running the CLP.

This latest display of weakness shows the CLP have not learnt from their chaotic 4 years in Government.

Gary Higgins backflip is made all the more embarrassing by the fact that he called for a $1.50 floor price.

While I would have liked to see the Riley $1.50, I can live with $1.30."

Gary Higgins called for a floor price before it was a recommendation by former Chief Justice, Trevor Riley:

It may be time for the Territory to seriously consider the imposition of a floor price or other mechanism to increase the price of alcohol particularly the cheapest forms of alcohol, such as cask wine and the like

Any method that increases price will help to significantly reduce both consumption and the harm related with misuse of alcohol and abuse.
