Coastal Management Program: Bayside

Bayside Council has reaffirmed its ongoing relationship with Georges Riverkeeper and the Cooks River Alliance as it works to develop a coastal management program to remain eligible for Government funding.

"Bayside has wonderful waterways and we must all work together to protect our natural environment," Mayor Dr Christina Curry said.

Bayside Council manages its coast and waterways in accordance with relevant state legislation, policies and plans.

To do this effectively Council is a member of two Coastal Management Programs:

  • Georges River Catchment Coastal Management Program
  • Cooks River Catchment Coastal Management Program.

Council supports these two programs through two regional organisations:

  • The Cooks River Alliance
  • The Georges River Riverkeeper.

By supporting and funding these organisations Council can use these Coastal Management Programs when seeking government funding.

Council has been successful in obtaining Government funding for numerous works around Ramsgate Beach.
