Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged stabbing which occurred in Coburg North this morning.
Investigators have been told three men were involved in an altercation at a property in Lorensen Avenue about 2.40am.
The situation escalated and resulted in a man in his 30s being stabbed in the head, arm and shoulder.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The other men involved had left the area before police arrival but investigators believe all parties are known to each other.
The investigtion into the incident continues.
