Cocaine and cash located during routine intercept on Chapel Street

A man has been charged after more than $13,000 in cash and cocaine was located during a routine intercept in Prahran on Saturday night, Victoria Police say.

Members from Prahran Divisional Response Unit were on patrol as part of Operation Safenight and intercepted a vehicle in a car park at the rear of a hotel on Chapel Street just before midnight.

A search of the vehicle located more than a kilo of cocaine and more than $13,000 in cash.

The driver, a 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with traffick a commercial quantity of cocaine.

The Lynbrook man appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday and remains in custody.
