Code of Conduct adopted

Bass Coast Shire Council adopted the Councillor Code of Conduct at its Council Meeting held on Wednesday, 17 February.

The Local Government Act 2020 requires councils to review and adopt a Councillor Code of Conduct within four months of the general election, which is developed with input and feedback from Councillors and reflects the requirements of the Act and the Local Government (Integrity and Compliance) Regulations.

The Councillor Code of Conduct is an important document reflecting the standards that Councillors must uphold and a commitment to the way they will work together on behalf of the community.

The Councillor Code of Conduct can be found on Council's website at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au/policies.
