Detectives from Major Collison Investigation Unit are currently at the scene of a serious crash which occurred in Traralgon last night.
Investigators have been told a man was crossing Bank Street about 9.10pm when he was struck by a Toyota Kluger.
The driver of the Kluger stopped at the scene and emergency services were called.
The yet to be identified pedestrian, believed to be a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Kluger has been spoken to by police.
Investigators wish to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may be able to identify the male pedestrian.
