Police and emergency services are currently on scene at a serious collision in Craigieburn, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a dual cab ute and tray truck collided at the intersection of Sydney Road and Barrie Road at 5.50am.
It is believed the driver of the ute, who is yet-to-be-identified, was turning from Sydney Road onto Barrie Road.
He has received life threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital.
The truck driver, a 22-year-old man from Craigieburn, who was travelling south on Sydney Road was not injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.
No other people were involved in the collision.
Traffic travelling south on Sydney Road is being diverted onto Barrie Road.
Road diversions are expected to be in place during the morning peak.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
