Combating youth loneliness

We are proud to support young disability community leader Fel Andronicou (@Divergent Fel) in a new project to combat social isolation for young autistic people in Bayside.

Fel has launched Divergent Connections after recognising a need for more youth friendly spaces for people with a disability in the area. Her goal is to create friendships and networks for neurodiverse youth through a range of activities.

These include well-being workshops covering issues such as mental health, self-care and physical activity.

There will also be board and card games, nature walks, role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons, arts and crafts workshops, baking and cooking classes and career counselling.

Divergent Connections received a Council grant to help with the program.
