Come one come all to Cotton Tree playground

Sunshine Coast Council

A major playground upgrade at Cotton Tree Esplanade proved popular over the summer holidays, with kids of all ages putting the new equipment to the test.

Division 8 Councillor Jason O'Pray said the revamped playground included new and exciting elements.

"Council upgraded the Cotton Tree Park playground to not only provide fun and exciting new elements but also to make it more inclusive for more children to be able to enjoy it," Cr O'Pray said.

"As part of this we installed an all-abilities carousel as well as an all-abilities birds nest swing, log steppers and rubber softfall.

"These all-abilities play features are within the same perimeter as the other features, so all kids can play together.

"There's also a new double swing set, in addition to the one that was already there.

"It's a terrific playground in a beautiful spot so I'm not surprised so many families have been enjoying it already!"

This upgrade was one of many playground improvements as part of council's $370 million 2018-19 Capital Works Program.
