Comment on our draft animal management plan

Council's draft Domestic Animal Management Plan (DAMP) 2021-25 is now available for community feedback, after it was endorsed at last week's Council meeting.

We received more than 860 submissions from the public earlier this year about the management of cats and dogs in the Shire. This feedback was collected at pop-up consultations in the community and via our Participate Nillumbik website, and has been used to inform the draft DAMP.

Mayor Peter Perkins thanked everyone who made a submission to inform the draft, and said he hopes to see plenty of community submissions on the draft plan.

"To have more than 800 responses to the DAMP survey is reflective of how important pets are to our community," Cr Perkins said

"The consultation that has now kicked off is asking for your thoughts on the draft plan. You can quickly and easily provide feedback and let us know if you think anything else should be covered in the draft," he said.

The draft DAMP can be viewed on our Participate Nillumbik website. The plan is open for comment until 22 September.
