Ballina Shire Council wishes to advise commuters of upcoming asphalt resurfacing works on Kerr Street, Ballina and Kalinga Street, West Ballina.

Location: Kalinga Street (between Riverview and Keppel Avenue)
Dates: Monday 29 June to Wednesday 1 July 2026 (weather permitting)
Work Hours: 5:00pm to 5:00am (night works)
Location: Kerr Street (between Swift and Bentinck Streets)
Dates: Thursday 2 July and Friday 3 July 2026 (weather permitting)
Work Hours: 5:00pm to 5:00am (night works)
These works are scheduled at night to minimise disruption to daytime traffic and support local business operations in this high-traffic area. The project forms part of Council's ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving local road infrastructure.
What to Expect
During the works, there will be temporary lane closures, road closures, detours and possible delays. Traffic management will always be in place.
Temporary parking restrictions will apply within the work area. Residents and business owners who usually park on Kerr Street and Kalinga Street are encouraged to make alternative arrangements during the work period.
While every effort will be made to maintain access to properties and businesses, short-term disruptions may occur.
Nearby residents may experience some noise and dust during the works. Council and the contractor will take all reasonable steps to minimise these impacts.
