Community encouraged to hold on to donations

Snowy Monaro residents planning a household clean-up are being asked to hold on to their unwanted items with the region's buyback facilities closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Cooma and Jindabyne Scrapmarts are closed as are a number of op shop facilities in the Snowy Monaro.

Residents wishing to donate quality items (not stained, damaged or broken) are asked to hold off until restrictions are eased.

The region's landfills and transfer stations are operating to their normal opening hours.

Residents are asked to only use the facilities to deposit general waste, recycling or organic material and to hold on to any other items or material unless absolutely necessary.

EFTPOS payments at these facilities are encouraged in the interests of public and staff safety.

Council also asks residents to respect the decisions of local charities to limit or refuse donations.
