Community Grant Funding Awarded

Murray River Council

Murray River Council has awarded $27,760 in community grants to support a diverse range of local projects and events across the region.

Under Round Two of the 2025/26 Community Grants Program, community groups and not-for-profit organisations were invited to apply for up to $3,000 in funding to help deliver projects that benefit the broader community.

Mayor, Cr John Harvie said the program continues to be a great way for Council to support local initiatives and strengthen partnerships across the region.

"Our Community Grants Program helps community organisations bring ideas to life, from events and equipment upgrades to small infrastructure projects."

"It's also a great avenue to build on the strong partnerships between Council and our local committees, and we're once again pleased to back some exciting community-led initiatives from right across the council."

Council's Community Grants Program runs two funding rounds per year, with an allocation of $30,000 per round. This round had a budget of $27,760 due to an extra allocation in round 1.

Council received 17 applications under Round Two, requesting a total of $46,954 in funding. Following a panel assessment process, 12 applications were deemed to demonstrate sufficient merit and community value to receive support.

The next round of the Community Grants Program will open in July.
