Logan City Council today launched a COVID-19 Response Grant program to help community organisations deliver services for those in Logan impacted by the pandemic.
Local organisations and services can apply for a quick response grant of up to $5000 to support their communities through the pandemic recovery.
The grants will assist local recovery efforts across priority areas including mental health and wellbeing, emergency relief, domestic and family violence and homelessness.
City Lifestyle Committee Chairperson, Councillor Laurie Koranski said Council recognised the challenges still facing many in the community as a result of pandemic restrictions and job losses.
"It is important we continue to support our community," Cr Koranski said.
"In recent months we have seen changes in the types of support people need, and we want to support our local services who are working hard to help everyone get through this together."
COVID-19 Community Response Grants will support and help community organisations to immediately:
- Address community priorities emerging as a result of the pandemic
- Provide new services to support those affected by the pandemic
- Help manage any increased demand resulting from the pandemic
- Create opportunities for community cohesion and connection
- Develop support services to meet new approaches for service delivery
The short-term grants will be available until June 20 next year or until the funds are expended.
