Community groups benefit from grants

Local community and sporting groups will continue servicing the Camden community at their best after Council committed more than $150,000 in Community Grants at last night's ordinary meeting.

The Community Grants program provides assistance to community groups to deliver projects and events that address service gaps, create innovation which benefits the community, and includes Community Small Grants, Sport and Recreation Grants and Community Sponsorship.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the grants assist community groups to continue servicing the Camden community.

"Council is committed to helping our local community groups who are the lifeblood of the Camden area," Cr Fedeli said.

"Whether it be enhancing community safety at events, providing professional coaching or assisting organisations in working for those in need, these funds are critical to our organisations and residents combined.

"I am proud to be leading a Council who truly cares for its area and looks for opportunities to assist where it can."

Seventeen local community groups and sporting organisations received Community Small Grants and Sport and Recreation Grants respectively, with a further six not-for-profit groups receiving Community Sponsorship for 2022.
