Community Infrastructure Strategy, 'Your Future Places and Spaces' adopted

Kempsey Shire Council adopted a Community Infrastructure Strategy, branded 'Your Future Places and Spaces', at Tuesday's Council meeting.

The strategy outlines a 20-year vision that guides the planning and management of Council owned community infrastructure across the shire. This includes libraries, community halls and open spaces such as parks, playgrounds and sporting facilities.

Two phases of engagement were undertaken by Council during the public exhibition period of the draft plan. During that time more than 600 people engaged via Council's Your Say Macleay website and surveys and over 150 adults and school children took part in face-to-face workshops.

Overall, residents were supportive of the plan with no changes to the final draft.

The plan can be viewed at Council's engagement website Your Say Macleay or on Council's website.
