Community Nursery prepares to re-open

The much-loved Bayside Community Nursery is preparing to re-open to the public in April after missing the 2020 sales season due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Nursery Gala Day will be on Saturday 27 March from 9am until 2pm, with a free sausage sizzle.

Volunteers have returned to assist staff propagate a range of indigenous plants that are also grown for local parks and bushlands.

Sangeeta Mani volunteers on Saturday mornings, a new year’s resolution she made at the start of 2020.

“I’m happy to be volunteering at the Nursery, it is a good outlet from my corporate job – mindful, relaxing and you learn from knowledgeable people about what makes indigenous plants unique to our environment,” she said.

Bayside Community Nursery is located at 316-317 Reserve Road, Cheltenham.
